ASCM Fall 2026 Free Virtual Student Night From Classroom to Career: Navigating Supply Chain Careers, ATS & AI Wednesday, October 14, 2026 5:55 PM to 7:10 PM (Eastern Time) (Earn 1.0 CEU)
Joint Meeting with ASCM/APICS Massachusetts Minuteman, Northern New England, & New Haven Chapters, & ASQ New Haven
What does a career in supply chain actually look like—and how can students stand out when looking for their first opportunity?
This one-hour interactive virtual Student Night is designed for college students and early-career professionals who are exploring supply chain careers and want to better understand how today’s hiring process works.
As students move from the classroom into internships and their first full-time roles, they may encounter *Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and increasingly sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools throughout the job search process. Understanding how these tools work—and how employers actually evaluate candidates—can help students approach their job search with greater confidence.
Participants will engage in guided discussion and small-group practice focused on:
- Different career paths within supply chain, including procurement, planning, logistics, operations, and analytics
- How Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) can influence the initial screening process
- What employers look for when reviewing candidates for entry-level supply chain positions
- How AI can be used effectively and responsibly during the job search
- Common misconceptions and mistakes when using AI for resumes and applications
- How students can begin building relevant skills and experiences before graduation
Participants will also take part in a short, interactive breakout challenge where they will evaluate sample candidates against an entry-level supply chain role and identify what could help—or hurt—their chances of getting an interview.
Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the breadth of supply chain careers, practical insights into today's hiring process, and simple ways to begin preparing for their first supply chain opportunity.
This Student Night is a collaborative effort with contributors from the ASCM Massachusetts Minuteman Chapter, ASCM New Haven Chapter, ASCM Northern New England Chapter, and ASQ New Haven—demonstrating how professional connections form through shared effort.
