Are You On the CEO's Naughty Or Nice List?
As 2014 draws to a close many companies are experiencing the annual year-end review. For many companies this is where the realization of the results of a hard years work is discussed in detail and this is when department results are measured on how they contributed to the success of the company.
Most companies spend enormous amount of time throughout the year measuring weekly, monthly and quarterly results, hundreds of hours are spent in meetings discussing how to improve the numbers. These meetings typically end with new goals and priorities and with all agreeing on how to make the year successful.
Then comes the dreaded year end results meeting. In some cases the company achieved its goals, revenue was excellent and was able to cover a lot of the sins in the company. However, far too many companies’ year-end results are less then favorable and the year-end meeting turns into finger pointing an excuses exercise.
The end result is a meeting where management finds out if they are on the CEO's Naughty or Nice List.
